One of Vetromarca’s specialties is custom glass cutting, known for its exceptional accuracy—making us one of the most precise glassworks in the Treviso area.
We typically cut custom glass sheets from larger sheets, with standard sizes of 600×321 cm or 240×321 cm. This process allows us to create precisely tailored glass pieces that meet the specific needs of our clients, combining expert craftsmanship with advanced industrial technology.
We begin by placing the large glass sheet on a cutting table. This table is equipped with a mobile bridge that positions the glass precisely on a fixed surface where the cutting will take place. A numerical control system ensures millimeter-perfect accuracy during the process.
Next, we use advanced software known as the “optimizer” to calculate the ideal measurements. This helps us reduce glass waste and streamline cutting times for maximum efficiency.
Thanks to this system, along with our professional cutting machines and diamond tools, we can achieve virtually any shape you need—whether linear, custom-shaped, or template-based, even based on your original design.
Once the measurements are set, we proceed with engraving the glass using a specialized cutter with either a tungsten carbide or synthetic diamond wheel. An experienced operator then manually follows the engraved lines to ensure a precise, clean cut.
Not all glass types can be processed in the same way. For example, cutting tempered glass requires a different technique. Once glass is tempered, it can no longer be engraved, as doing so would cause it to shatter. As a result, tempered glass must be cut before it undergoes the tempering process.
